Welcome

The Hygiene Centre is a research group at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine devoted to developing a better understanding of hygiene and sanitation practices which can be used to inform public health policy.

Our mission is to develop and apply knowledge that will help improve hygiene, sanitation and household water treatment worldwide.

We are supported by a variety of international agencies and corporations, including the World Bank, Water and Sanitation Programme, the International Water Association, the UK Department for International Development and Unilever. 2008 is the International Year of Sanitation. You can see the progress that has been made in the sector by clicking on the link to take you to our Resource Room. We hope that you find this site useful. If you have any comments please forward them to us via our contact page.
