Hygiene Selection

We recommend the following publications in Hygiene.
People are being asked to promote hygiene behaviour and to advocate for hygiene promotion. To do so, they need to be given appropriate tools and resources. In 2002, ten key hygiene promotion documents were selected by members of the Hygiene Centre. In consultation with several organisations in the sector a toolkit was put together with an annotated bibliography, to be distributed by WSSCC, the WASH campaign and other partners, including Unicef, World Bank, Water Aid, and IRC.

The material includes:

Theoretical and academic evidence for advocacy including evidence for effectiveness and cost effectiveness of different hygiene promotion approaches and techniques.
Guidelines on how to plan, manage, implement and evaluate a hygiene promotion programme.
Materials that can be used in a hygiene promotion programme
